Sean Hannity’s exclusive interview with Donald Trump Jr. on Fox News was the most-watched program in all of basic cable on Tuesday night, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The interview, which averaged 2.9 million total viewers, came in the wake of revelations that Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer promising damaging information on then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in June 2016.

“The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” registered 2.336 million viewers to finish second, with “CNN Tonight” taking third, with 1.125 million viewers.

{mosads}The program also won its time slot in the key 25-to-54-year-old demographic, delivering 664,000 viewers in the category advertisers covet most. O’Donnell was second, with 576,000, and CNN’s Don Lemon third, with 369,000.

Overall for Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow finished with the most viewers in the key demographic, with an average of 719,000 in that category in the 9 p.m. hour.

Trump Jr. indicated Tuesday he would be willing to testify under oath about his election-year meeting with a Russian lawyer who claimed to have compromising information about Clinton.

“And you have nothing to hide?” Hannity asked Trump Jr. during the interview.

“That means you’ll testify under oath, all of that?”

“All of it,” Trump Jr. responded.

He did not dismiss the possibility he spoke about the campaign with other Russians, however.

“I don’t even know,” Trump Jr. said when asked. “I’ve probably met with other people from Russia but certainly not in the context of actual formalized meetings or anything.”
