Levee in Texas county breached
A levee in Texas’s Brazoria County has been breached, with local officials urging residents to “get out now” as Tropical Storm Harvey continues to hammer the Lone Star State.
The county, which is south of Houston, announced on its Twitter account early Tuesday that the Columbia Lakes levee was breached.

The breach comes two days after Brazoria County Judge Matt Sebesta put in place a mandatory evacuation for residents in certain parts of the county.
Brazoria is one of 12 counties Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) asked that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) add to the presidential disaster declaration.
The death toll of Harvey, which first made landfall Friday as a Category 4 hurricane, has reportedly reached at least 15 people.
