The title of former FBI Director James Comey’s new book appears to be a reference to a now-infamous conversation he had with President Trump.
“A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” will be released in May 2018.
Comey testified that at a dinner with the president in January, Trump asked him for loyalty, saying “I need loyalty; I expect loyalty.” Comey told Trump that he would be honest, but could not pledge personal loyalty.

Comey was fired by Trump in May as the FBI was investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The Amazon description of “A Higher Loyalty” says that Comey’s book will include his experiences from the “highest-stakes situations” of his career in the George W. Bush and Obama administrations.
“His journey provides an unprecedented entry into the corridors of power, and a remarkable lesson in what makes an effective leader,” the description reads.
Comey has also recently re-entered the spotlight with his Twitter account, @FormerBu, which has been confirmed to be the former director’s personal account and has seen more use in the past few weeks.
