Fox News analyst steps down from management role at law firm after ‘Hannity’ appearance

A Fox News legal analyst stepped down from management at her law firm Tuesday after making comments on “Hannity” that victims of sexual harassment are “few and far between.”

Mercedes Colwin will no longer serve as the managing partner of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani in New York City, according to American Lawyer. 

Colwin appeared on Sean Hannity’s show last week to discuss a The Washington Post story in which Leigh Corfman, now 53, said Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore (R) tried to initiate a sexual encounter with her in 1979 when she was 14 and he was 32.

Colwin told Hannity that women commonly make up sexual harassment claims for political reasons, and that real victims of sexual predators are “very few and far between.”

She later put out a statement to clarify her comments, saying she did “not mean to imply nor do I believe, that the victims of sexual assault within society at large are ‘very few and far between.’”

Since then, another woman has come forward with allegations against Moore. Beverly Young Nelson said Monday that Moore sexually assaulted her in 1977 when she was 16. She also presented her yearbook from that time bearing what she alleges is Moore’s signature.

Moore has been under growing pressure to drop out of the Alabama Senate race, though he has denied the allegations and vowed to finish the campaign.
