Incredible footage of the North Korean soldier making his escape through the DMZ, first in a jeep and then on foot. Can clearly see North Koreans running to shoot their "comrade" pic.twitter.com/JRzTdYBvq4

North Korea violated the United Nations Armistice agreement twice when it chased after and shot at a soldier who defected to South Korea, the U.N. Command said Tuesday.
The U.N. Command office released video footage of the incident, which shows the defecting soldier driving across the Military Demarcation Line (MDL), which marks the land border between North and South Korea.
The soldier then gets out of his vehicle, and North Korean soldiers fire shots at him as he continues on foot toward the South.
North Korea violated the armistice agreement when it fired weapons across the MDL, and again when a North Korean soldier temporarily crossed the MDL.
The defecting soldier was recovered and evacuated for medical treatment, and remains hospitalized, according to The Associated Press.
