Colbert: Secret Service removing Omarosa from White House is ‘good practice for when Robert Mueller finishes’

Late night host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night said the reportedly forceful removal of Trump administration aide Omarosa Manigault Newman from White House grounds after she was fired would make for “good practice” for when the special counsel “finishes his investigation.”

“Folks, this is huge. With Omarosa gone, who’s going to be in charge of …” Colbert said, shrugging.

Manigault Newman had been director of communications for the White House’s Office of Public Liaison.

“This is incredible,” the “Late Show” host continued. “The Secret Service physically dragging someone from the White House. Though, it’s good practice for when Robert Mueller finishes his investigation.”

{mosads}Mueller is leading an investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. So far, four individuals have been indicted or pleaded guilty in the probe.

Multiple outlets reported Wednesday that Manigault Newman had to be escorted from the White House after a heated exchange with White House chief of staff John Kelly, who allegedly fired her.

The White House, however, said she tendered her resignation and that her last day would be Jan. 20.

The Secret Service also pushed back on reports it had to physically remove Manigault Newman, saying it only deactivated her pass allowing access to the building.

CBS News reported that she tripped alarms trying to access the White House residence after her dismissal.

Prior to her role in the administration, Manigault Newman was a contestant on season one of “The Apprentice,” the NBC reality show formerly hosted by President Trump. She is often referred to only by her first name.

“I am livid about this. Not because Omarosa should be anywhere near the White House. She should not,” Colbert said. “But because Donald Trump let Gen. Kelly do the firing? What the hell? Firing Omarosa is literally the only job Donald Trump is qualified for.”
