Clinton shares tweet saying it’s ‘totally crazy’ to suggest FBI is anti-Trump

Hillary Clinton on Thursday shared a tweet arguing the FBI “helped sink” her presidential campaign in 2016 and that it’s “totally crazy” to suggest the bureau is biased against President Trump.

The tweet from Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe said “it’s totally crazy to suggest the FBI” is opposed to Trump and called on Twitter users to retweet if they agree.

Clinton has said she believes she would have won last year’s election if then-FBI Director James Comey hadn’t released a letter days before the vote indicating he was reopening the investigation into her use of a private email server as secretary of State.

Trump fired Comey earlier this year and in recent weeks has lashed out at the FBI, saying the bureau’s reputation is in “tatters” and specifically targeting FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who worked on the Clinton email probe.

Other Republican lawmakers have in recent weeks suggested the FBI is biased against the president after it was revealed an agent working on special counsel Robert Mueller’s team had sent anti-Trump text messages. The agent, Peter Strzok, was dismissed over the summer.

Mueller is conducting a criminal investigation into Moscow’s election meddling and whether there was collusion between members of the Trump campaign and Russia. His probe has thus far led to two indictments and two guilty pleas.
