Joe Walsh: Miller ‘filibustered’ because he was afraid to debate Tapper

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) on Sunday ripped White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller for his exchange earlier in the day with CNN host Jake Tapper, saying he was on the network to “filibuster and hurl personal insults.”

“Miller looked small. Tapper looked professional. I like Stephen Miller, but he was afraid to debate Tapper this morning. Which is why he filibustered,” Walsh tweeted.

Tapper on Sunday cut off his interview with Miller, as the two sparred about President Trump and the news network.

Miller spent a good portion of the interview defending Trump and bashing the network, and Tapper eventually cut him off, suggesting Trump was the only viewer Miller cared about.

“I think I’ve wasted enough of my viewers’ time. Thank you, Stephen,” Tapper added as he ended the interview.

In a tweet following the exchange, Trump said Tapper was “destroyed” in the interview.

Walsh, who hosts a conservative radio show, served one term in the House of Representatives. He has recently been critical of Republicans for attacking special counsel Robert Mueller.
