Giuliani: I wouldn’t debate Stormy Daniels’ lawyer ‘if they paid me $10 million’

Rudy Giuliani said Friday that he would not debate Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for adult-film star Stormy Daniels, even for “$10 million.”

“I wouldn’t debate that guy if they paid me $10 million,” Giuliani, President Trump’s newest lawyer, told Politico. “He’s a liar. All he does is put out statements in the press and they fawn all over him.”

Avenatti challenged Giuliani to a face-to-face discussion on live television earlier this week, following a series of eyebrow-raising media appearances from Giuliani.

“I think it would be very helpful for the public to witness a discussion between Mr. Giuliani and me concerning the facts of the case, etc.,” Avenatti tweeted. “I am willing to participate on any network provided both sides are provided a fair shake. I am also willing to do it on 12-hrs notice.”

Giuliani called Avenatti a “clown” to Politico, noting that he does not want to give him “all that time” on television.

“I don’t debate people like him. I’m not going to give him all that time on television,” he said. “What did he ever run for? What public service did he ever do? I’m going to debate him? This guy is a clown.”

Giuliani, who recently joined Trump’s legal team, kicked off a media firestorm earlier this month after he told Sean Hannity on Fox News that Trump had reimbursed his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, for the $130,000 payment to Daniels to keep her form speaking about her alleged affair with Trump, despite Trump saying that he did not know about the payment.

Avenatti has also challenged Hannity to a “straight up discussion between two men” about the case. Daniels is suing Trump and Cohen for defamation and to void a nondisclosure agreement.
