Protesters calling for gun control held a “die-in” outside Trump Tower in Chicago on Tuesday.

The demonstration was one of dozens nationwide held to mark the two-year anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Florida, where 49 people were killed.

A 16-year-old activist speaking at the event said that they had written the names of schools affected by shootings in chalk on the sidewalk where the die-in took place, as well as chalking the outlines of bodies.

She said that the art represented the “inaction” of lawmakers on gun control.

Several other students also read poems and spoke at the protest, according to video shared by The Trace, a media outlet focused on gun violence, that came from Twitter user Ariane Moya.

{mosads}Activists in Florida, including students and parents from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, held a die-in near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort Tuesday morning. Another event was held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Gun control advocates have intensified their activism in the months since the Parkland, Fla., high school shooting, with many calling out Trump and lawmakers over lack of action on gun control.
