The parents of an 11-year-old Delaware boy said he was bullied at school because he went by his mother’s last name of Trump.

The boy’s parents told WPVI in Philadelphia that their son, Joshua Trump, had been teased since before President Trump took office.

“They curse at him, they call him an idiot, they call him stupid,” his mother, Megan Trump, told the news station.

{mosads}Joshua is not related to the president, WPVI reported. His parents said he will begin using his father’s last name, which is Berto.

Mark Mayer, the principal at Joshua’s middle school, told WPVI that he and teachers were aware of the incidents and that five students were disciplined.

“I do know the teachers were aware of the last name, and I know in speaking with the student that the teachers do their very best to try not to say his last name,” Mayer said.

Joshua’s last name has been changed in the school’s system, he said, and the boy is receiving additional support as needed.
