U.S. Capitol Police gave an all-clear Wednesday after earlier saying that they were investigating a suspicious package near the Lower West Terrace of the building.

Officers first reached the scene at about 10:30 a.m., USCP said, advising staffers and visitors to avoid the area.

Police cleared any potential threat and reopened the area at about noon.
