Former Roger Stone aide agrees to testify after fighting subpoena: Report

Andrew Miller, a former aide to longtime Trump associate Roger Stone, will testify this week to a grand jury used during special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, according to The Associated Press.

Miller fought the grand jury’s subpoena for months but agreed to appear in Washington before the grand jury on Friday, according to his attorney.

In August, five months before Stone’s arrest, Chief Judge Beryl Howell held Miller in civil contempt, and his appeals of the subpoena were similarly unsuccessful.

{mosads}Miller’s attorney, Paul Kamenar, argued prosecutors no longer needed testimony from Miller now that Mueller’s investigation is complete, but Howell upheld the subpoena.

During a Wednesday hearing, Aaron Zelinsky, a prosecutor with Mueller’s team who has led the prosecution of Stone, joined Jonathan Kravis of the U.S. Attorney’s Office to tell Howell why they still needed Miller’s testimony even after the conclusion of Mueller’s investigation, according to CNN.

Their specific reasoning remains unclear, particularly as Stone has already been indicted, but the subpoena may indicate the grand jury has unfinished business even after the conclusion of the special counsel’s investigation. Stone will be back in court Thursday.
