Bloomberg on Warren: ‘I didn’t realize she’s still in’

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg told a reporter Tuesday he “didn’t realize” that Sen. Elizabeth (D-Mass.) was still in the primary race.

His comments came in light of Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Peter Buttigieg dropping from the race and consolidating support behind former Vice President Joe Biden.

After Super Tuesday, where Bloomberg has allocated the bulk of his resources and over a third of delegates will be awarded, the top two spots in the primary field are expected to go to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Biden. At that point, Bloomberg and Warren would be competing for third place.

“If there’s only 3 candidates, you can’t do worse than that,” Bloomberg said, when asked if he would accept a third-place finish.

The reporter reminded him that Warren, who currently has eight delegates, is still in the race.

“I didn’t realize she’s still in, is she?” Bloomberg asked.

At the Las Vegas democratic presidential debate before the Nevada caucuses, Warren was the first to take a swipe at Bloomberg, pointing to his many nondisclosure agreements with women who worked at his company.
