R&B singer Jeremih leaves hospital after stint in ICU due to COVID-19
R&B singer Jeremih was released from the hospital this week and is recovering at his home after he was hospitalized with COVID-19, according to multiple reports.
The musician thanked the staff at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital for their care in a statement issued by his family, CNN reported.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life,” the statement said. “I will be forever grateful. I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes.”
Jeremih, whose real name is Jeremy Felton, in the statement also thanked fellow artists Chance the Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for “their love and support,” in addition to thanking his fans, CNN reported.
“I’m getting stronger every day, and look forward to spending time with my sons,” he said.
Jeremih’s family last month issued a statement that he was on a ventilator to help him breathe after being admitted to an intensive care unit for a COVID-19 infection. At the time, his representative said that his condition was “rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions” and that the virus “viciously attacked his body,” NBC News reported.
Chance the Rapper on Thursday celebrated the artist’s recovery from the virus.
