Now that Barack Obama’s campaign is starting to openly attack John McCain for making fraudulent statements, the campaign can question whether McCain can be trusted when he calls for change, writes Josh Marshall. The Army Times found McCain either flip-flopping or fibbing about his stance on the Army’s Future Combat Systems modernization project, which he had long wanted to curtail, notes Marshall. Just a few weeks ago, McCain attacked Obama as the candidate who would “slow our development” of the project, the newspaper noted.
