By getting Barack Obama to stay in Washington Thursday night and focus on the bailout talks, John McCain has increased the chances of delaying the debate, writes Byron York. No one in Washington has yet to adequately explain why taxpayers must pay for mistakes made by lenders, regulators and unworthy recipients of bad loans, according to Nick Schulz. He adds that most of the people who can’t pay back the loans are irresponsible and aren’t victims.
