Liberal activists need to hold Barack Obama and other Democratic senators to their vow to strip retroactive immunity from the rewrite of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that comes before the Senate this week since the immunity can’t ever be repealed, writes mcjoan. Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W. Va.) and supporters of the FISA deal are deluded to think that the occasional oversight meetings between the White House and Congress over warrantless wiretapping will prevent the executive branch from capturing more power, according to smintheus.
