Power Line

Al Franken and his accountant still have some explaining to do, writes Scott Johnson. Franken, running for Senate in Minnesota, owes $70,000 in back taxes in 17 states. He’s blamed the failure to pay taxes on his accountant, who talked to the press soon after the story broke but has stayed mum recently, Johnson notes. Paul Mirengoff pretends to be a Democratic primary voter and feels better about Hillary Clinton’s chances of winning than Barack Obama’s. And House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) doesn’t make sense to John Hinderaker when she tries to work the “evangelical community” into her argument for a new climate change policy, lower energy costs and new jobs for the middle class, all in one paragraph.
