The Battle of Basra and liberals’ positions on global warming are the topics this morning. Bill Roggio looks at the reports of Iraqi government forces defecting during their attack on Shiite militias into Basra. He notes that while the Iraqis troops weren’t the “fighting 52nd,” about three percent of soldiers and two percent of police failed to fight. Those numbers hardly represent a breakdown, Roggio writes. Michael Goldfarb notes that a scientist who had linked global warming to an increase in hurricane energy has revised his conclusion. Goldfarb then calls on Barack Obama and Al Gore to revise their policy prescriptions, too.
