James L. looks at the latest Senate polling and liveblogs the primary runoffs in a Mississippi House race. Surveys by a Republican polling firm show GOP Sens. Norm Coleman (Minn.) and Susan Collins (Maine) ahead of Democrats Al Franken and Rep. Tom Allen, respectively. The Democrat in Colorado’s race, Mark Udall, leads Republican Bob Schaffer. Democrat Travis Childers and Republican Greg Davis emerged in runoffs for the House seat previously held by Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.). The district is pretty conservative, but the higher turnout for Democrats in the runoff keeps it from being a “completely safe Republican hold,” James writes.
