Donald Trump released a campaign video Monday to celebrate American workers, who he claims are getting “crushed by bad trade deals” and “inexcusable taxes and fees on small business.”
“The American worker built the foundation for the country we love and have today, but the American worker is getting crushed,” the GOP nominee said in a video message marking Labor Day.
“Bad trade deals like NAFTA [North American Free Trade Agreement] and TPP [Trans-Pacific Partnership], such high and inexcusable taxes and fees on small business that employ so many good people.”
In promoting the video on Facebook, Trump said that as president he would end bad trade deals and bring back American jobs.
In the video he urges viewers to honor the “men and women who proudly keep America working.”
“They are the absolute best anywhere in the world,” he said. “There’s nobody like ‘em. I’m ready to make America work again and to make American great again. That’s what we’re going to do on Nov. 8.”
The video comes as Trump and running mate Mike Pence make Labor Day appearances in Ohio on Monday.
The Associated Press reported that the duo was scheduled to sit down for a morning round-table discussion with union members in Cleveland and then visit a fair in Youngstown.
