Bot turns Trump tweets into White House statements

A new bot is turning President Trump’s tweets into official White House statements.

The bot, created by technologist, coder and activist Russel Neiss, searches for Trump tweets every 15 minutes and edits them to look like White House statements, HuffPost reported.

{mosads}Neiss told the news outlet that he was inspired to create the bot after Patrick Cunnane, an aide to former President Obama, tweeted out his mock up of a Trump tweet as a statement. Neiss said that a tweet from New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman calling all Trump tweets statements also drove him to make the bot.

The bot, launched Sunday, already has more than 35,000 followers. Journalists shared the bot widely on Twitter shortly after it was made.
