{mosads}Moran went on to say that he planned to “play a visible role advocating for our Democratic candidates.”
Moran’s resignation is effective at the next Democratic State Central meeting on Dec. 8th in Williamsburg. The Virginia Democratic Party will elect a successor to Moran at that meeting.
Moran comes from a family of Virginia Democrats. He is the brother of Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) and the uncle of Patrick Moran, who resigned from his father’s reelection campaign after video footage was released that appeared to show Patrick Moran talking about ways to get around voter identification laws. In late October, shortly after the video was released, police began a criminal investigation of Patrick Moran.
