Heinz Kerry discharged from Boston hospital

Teresa Heinz Kerry, the wife of Secretary of State John Kerry, was released from a Boston hospital on Saturday, three weeks after she experienced a serious seizure.

Heinz Kerry is expected to have a full recovery at home, according to Kerry spokesman Glen Johnson.

{mosads}She thanked hospital staff in a statement, according to reports. 

“It was amazing, a miracle,” Heinz Kerry said. “They are the kindest people, who love what they do and do it superbly well.”

Heinz Kerry suffered a seizure on July 7, while vacationing with her husband on Nantucket. She was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition and later flown to Boston to continue her recovery. 

Secretary of State Kerry said he was thankful for the support his family received.

“I’ve always known Massachusetts is blessed to have some of the greatest health care in the world, but we’ve just lived it, and are grateful to all,” he said in a statement.

The widow of former Sen. John Heinz (R-Pa.), Heinz Kerry was treated for breast cancer in 2009.
