DNC releases talking points for ‘your Republican uncle’
Democrats are providing supporters with prep for debating “your Republican uncle” heading into the holidays.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) set up a website Wednesday with talking points on the economy, climate change, healthcare and immigration reform to use with family members on Thanksgiving.
“{mosads}We can’t do anything about highway congestion, but we can make sure you have the information you need to answer a bonkers question about President Obama’s record on jobs or the perfect fact to respond to a ridiculous argument about the Affordable Care Act,” the DNC’s digital director, Matt Compton, said in a press release.
The site — yourrepublicanuncle.com — mirrors a similar page set up by Organizing for Action, the offshoot of Obama’s campaign apparatus, that gives tips on encouraging family members to sign up for health insurance through the new exchanges during the holidays.
Chip Roy, chief of staff for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) shot back on Twitter that “Republican uncles” should be speaking the truth about the healthcare law.

The conservative Heritage Foundation also released a set of pithy “Thanksgiving cards” criticizing the healthcare law — including one that reads, “ let’s be thankful our liberal cousins will be too embarrassed to bring up ObamaCare at dinner this year.”
