House extends session by one week

The House will remain in session the week of Dec. 12, one week longer than its original schedule.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor announced the change in schedule, which had been expected, on Thursday.

{mosads}”The House is no longer expected to meet its target adjournment date of Thursday, December 8. Legislative business and votes are now likely the week of December 12. Exact voting days, however, will not be known until the legislative workload becomes more definitive,” Cantor’s (R-Va.) office announced on Thursday. “Until then, Members are advised to keep their schedules flexible for the entire week of the 12th.”

GOP leaders plan to put a $900 billion omnibus spending bill on the House floor on Dec. 15, according to House aides.

Cantor’s office also said the House will convene on Monday but is not expected of hold votes.
