The verdict is in. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says Chicago-style pizza “shouldn’t be called pizza.”
Scalia gave his two cents on the city’s famous pizza at the Union League Club of Chicago’s 126th annual George Washington Birthday celebration on Friday, the Chicago-Sun Times reports.
{mosads}Scalia, who is from New Jersey, said he liked both Chicago and New York style pizza, but Chicago’s “shouldn’t be called pizza,” he said. “It’s very tasty, but it’s not pizza.”
Scalia also assailed the American school system on failing to educate students of their civic duties.
Scalia found its “appalling” that the students he encounters at elite law schools have reached graduate school without reading the Federalist Papers — calling it a critical piece of their national heritage.
