Perry and Cain still trading blows
{mosads}Cain is the former CEO of the Godfather’s Pizza restaurant chain. Perry went on to slap down Cain’s proposed tax reform plan, referred to as “9-9-9,” which Cain has continued to promote after dropping out of the race.
“I don’t expect he’s going to be saying nice things about me, because 9-9-9 is not a policy that is going to help America,” Perry said.
Perry is struggling to reestablish his campaign as still viable, campaigning in South Carolina ahead of the next primary vote there on Jan. 21. He is polling in the single digits and placed low in the first two votes in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Perry also told Ingraham his campaign would make the decision about continuing onto the next primary vote in Florida until Jan. 21, when South Carolina votes.
There is bad blood between Cain and Perry that dates back to the downfall of Cain’s campaign. When old sexual harassment allegations against Cain were first revealed, Cain and his chief of staff blamed Perry’s campaign early in November as the source of the leak.
Perry and his campaign flatly denied the claim.
