Feinstein: Schweitzer has a ‘large mouth’

Former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D) has a “rather large mouth,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif) said Sunday.

On CNN’s “State of the Union,” Feinstein responded to a derogatory statement Schweitzer recently made about her.

“My first reaction was I laughed, to tell you the truth,” she said. “He’s got a clearly rather large mouth and all sorts of things come out. I think that’s really too bad, but that’s the way it is.”

{mosads}In a wide-ranging interview with National Journal, Schweitzer said he couldn’t believe Feinstein criticized the CIA for spying on congressional staffers. Feinstein is chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and has been seen as close to the intelligence community.

“She was the woman who was standing under the streetlight with her dress pulled all the way up over her knees and now she says, ‘I’m a nun,’ when it comes to this spying I mean, maybe that’s the wrong metaphor — but she was all in!” Schweitzer said.

Asked if he apologized, Feinstein simply said “No.” She was then asked whether that would help.

“No. But it says something doesn’t it.”
