Pelosi: My next-door neighbor owns Washington Nationals

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) weighed in on Major League Baseball Wednesday after leaving her weekly press conference.

“My next-door neighbor is the owner of the Nationals,” she told reporters.

{mosads}An article published earlier this year in The Georgetowner indicated Pelosi is neighbors with Washington Nationals owner Mark Lerner at Washington Harbour in Georgetown.

The Nationals have made it to this year’s playoffs.

Pelosi also remarked that her father, former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr., brought the Orioles to Baltimore in the 1950s.

“There are a lot of good teams,” she said. “We have a lot going in sports.”

The Democratic leader added that sports is the only TV she watches.

“I’m not interested in anyone’s opinion. I just want to watch the score, and the team, and watch sports that way,” she said.
