Jindal unloads on Obama

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) slammed President Obama Thursday over his administration’s response to a trio of Ebola cases in the U.S. 

The potential 2016 White House contender charged that the Obama administration is “incompetent” and has “committed malpractice” in its handling of the deadly outbreak.

{mosads}Jindal’s comments came as health officials clashed with Republican lawmakers on the need to suspend flights during the Ebola congressional hearing.

“The American people want to trust the so-called experts in Washington, but the reality always turns out to be a complete 180 from the White House’s talking points,” Jindal said.

The former adviser to Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson was one of the first political figures to call on the White House to institute a travel ban on flights originating from African countries combatting the virus. 

The White House has so far rejected calls for a travel ban but is facing increased pressure from Republican lawmakers.

“The latest nightmare for Americans caused by the incompetence of the Obama Administration is its detached response to the Ebola crisis,” Jindal said in a statement.

Jindal pointed to Obama’s remarks that it was “unlikely” Ebola would spread to the U.S. from West Africa, comparing it to the 2010 Gulf oil spill that devastated parts of the Gulf Coast, including Louisiana. 

“There’s an old saying that battle plans don’t survive contact with the enemy. I learned during the oil spill that this White House refuses to throw out their plans when circumstances change,” Jindal said. 

“Instead, the Obama Administration seems to be more focused on getting through the 24-hour news cycle than actually solving problems. That is the opposite of leadership and competence,” he added.
