Prince William, Obama chat in Oval Office

Prince William visited the White House on Monday for a brief audience with President Obama but had little to say to reporters ahead of a policy speech at the World Bank later in the afternoon.

{mosads}William, who flew alone to Washington, was given a tour of the White House and met briefly with Vice President Biden before joining Obama in the Oval Office.

Members of the media were ushered in for less than a minute, as the president and William spoke softly to each other out of earshot.

A BBC microphone picked up on Obama telling the royal that his work to protect endangered species was “very important.” William will speak to the International Corruption Hunters Alliance about combating illegal animal trade in wildlife parks.

The prince also joked about the coverage surrounding the birth of his son last year.

“The excitement of the event and everything else was just chaos,” William said.

William’s wife, Kate, who is expecting another child, remained in New York. The prince predicted another “busy year” in 2015, when Kate is again expected to give birth.
