Biden ‘not at all worried’ about shots fired near Delaware home

Vice President Biden said Wednesday that he is “not at all worried” about an incident over the weekend in which gunshots were fired from a vehicle outside his Delaware home.

In an interview with CBS News, Biden quipped that he did not think anyone was trying to get him — “at least not physically.”

{mosads}He also noted that early evidence suggested the gunshots were fired from the passenger side of the car, while his house was on the driver’s side. And Biden noted that his house is set back significantly from the main road.

There were no reports of injuries in the incident, and the vice president and his wife, Jill, were not home at the time of the shooting.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that security cameras outside the home did not capture images of the gunman, and that the Secret Service had turned off a security system at the home because it often generated false alarms.

But a spokesman for the embattled agency said that at the time of the shooting, the appropriate security measures were in place and working.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has asked the Secret Service to provide additional information about the incident at Biden’s home.
