Fiorina bets Clinton server wiped clean

GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said on Friday that she bets Democrat Hillary Clinton’s email server is wiped clean of data.

Fiorina added that she is uncertain whether federal investigators would recover any files from the former secretary of State’s private device.

{mosads}“The more we learn here, the more it appears that Hillary Clinton very purposely and deliberately used a home-brewed system and made sure nobody knew what was on that home-brewed system,” Fiorina told host Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria.”

“Well, I don’t know, because now it appears that this server has been with some IT company in New Jersey since 2013,” Fiorina said when asked whether Clinton’s emails would ever surface. “I’m pretty sure they’ve scrubbed it thoroughly.”

“But it reminds me of the old adage, the cover-up is always worse than the crime,” the former Hewlett-Packard CEO added from Mason City, Iowa.

Clinton announced on Tuesday that she was turning over her personal email server and its backup USB flash drive to Justice Department investigators.

Concerns over the intelligence sensitivity of its contents are plaguing the former first lady’s hunt for the Democratic nomination in 2016.

Fiorina used Clinton’s growing email scandal on Friday as proof she is a more transparent option for voters in the next election cycle.

“I take any question I’m asked and will go anywhere and answer questions, but, you know, I talk to the voters about my life,” she said.

“I’ve also talked to them about the hard times I’ve experienced,” Fiorina said. “I’m a cancer survivor. And that was a long, tough battle, not just for me, but for my family.

“We lost our younger daughter to the demons of addiction,” she added. “And everywhere I go, people come up to me and say they, too, have lost a child, for example, or they, too, have a family member or personally have experienced a battle with cancer.”

Fiorina has made attacking Clinton’s trustworthiness a central part of her 2016 campaign.

The ex-technology executive is currently surging in multiple national polls following her performance in last week’s “happy-hour” GOP presidential debate on Fox News.

Fiorina additionally argued on Friday that she understands why Americans are disenchanted with career politicians such as Clinton.

“I am convinced that the citizens of this nation actually know what we need to do and the reason they are frustrated and sick of politics and politicians is because some of the answers are so obvious and people give big speeches and yet nothing seems to change.”
