Trump: I would apologize — if I was ever wrong

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he’d be happy to apologize … if he ever had reason to.

Asked by “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon on Friday, “Have you ever apologized? Ever? In your lifetime?,” Trump replied, “I think apologizing is a great thing, but you have to be wrong. If you’re not wrong …”

The business mogul added that “they wanted me to apologize when I first announced for president because I brought up illegal immigration … but ultimately it turned out that I was right.”

“I will absolutely apologize some time in the hopefully distant future if I’m ever wrong,” he concluded.

Trump’s “Tonight Show” appearance stayed light-hearted throughout, with Fallon dressing as the candidate for a pre-interview sketch and suggesting Trump change his campaign theme song to DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.”

The show began with a comedy sketch where Fallon impersonated Trump, in a room full of golden-framed pictures of Trump. He sat down in front of a “mirror” — where the actual Trump appeared as his reflection.

“Wow, I look fantastic,” Fallon-as-Trump said. To which the real Trump replied, “No, we look fantastic, and I mean really fantastic.”

{mosads}The two Trumps then interviewed each other, with Fallon asking, “How are you gonna create jobs in this country?”

The genuine candidate responded, “I’m just gonna do it.”

“Right, right. But how?”

“By doing it. It just happens.”

Trump also noted in the sketch that he would not consider actor Gary Busey for vice president — “He’s more of a Supreme Court justice” — but is more interested in musician Kanye West joining his ticket.

“I’m an efficient guy. I built a great company,” the businessman explained during the main interview when prompted about his success in the polls.

Fallon gave Trump multiple chances to whack at Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“She’s had a very very tough time, and I think it’s gonna be very tough for her. I’ve never seen anything like it. I feel terribly about it,” Trump said of the Democrat’s email server controversy.

When Fallon asked him to say something nice about GOP opponent Carly Fiorina, Trump began, “I think she’s a very nice woman.” But he quickly added, “I think that she’s gonna have a hard time. She had a very very rough past, corporately.”

And asked how he would be able to build a border wall with Mexico without using immigrant labor, Trump replied, “We may build it with immigrant labor. But it’s gonna be a great wall. At some point, maybe it’s gonna be called the Trump wall.”
