Trump taunts Jets owner after loss

Donald Trump on Monday taunted New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, a supporter of rival Jeb Bush, after his NFL team’s season-ending loss the previous day.

“Woody Johnson, owner of the NYJets, is @JebBush’s finance chairman. If Woody would’ve been w/me, he would’ve been in the playoffs, at least!” Trump tweeted.

{mosads}The tweet from Trump, a vocal backer of the AFC rival New England Patriots and their star quarterback Tom Brady, came after the Jets lost to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

That loss, along with a win Sunday by the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Cleveland Browns, put the Steelers in the playoffs instead of the Jets.

Former Gov. Bush (R-Fla.) tapped Johnson as his top fundraiser in June.

In response to Trump, Bush campaign aide Matt Gorman retweeted a Trump tweet from shortly before the 2012 election where the outspoken businessman suggested that Johnson exemplified “real patriotism.”
