Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) says that he’s bothered by a the surprise indictments of a pair of individuals who claimed to expose Planned Parenthood, suggesting that the organization itself should have faced charges.

“I’m disturbed,” the GOP presidential candidate told CNN on Monday night after a grand jury in Houston announced the criminal charges against anti-abortion activists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt.

{mosads}”We’ll need to learn more, but I’m disturbed that while Planned Parenthood, who are the ones that were actually selling off these parts were found having done nothing wrong, the people who tried to expose them are the ones that are now facing criminal charges,” Rubio said.
Other Republican candidates blasted the decision, which marked a twist in the investigation into Planned Parenthood after a series of undercover videos last year sparked calls in Congress for it to be defunded.

Carly Fiorina, who has vocally defended the videos and pushed to drop public funding for Planned Parenthood, slammed the organization Monday.

“From what I read, somehow the charge is that they falsified government identities because that’s true obviously, that’s not good, but I only know what I read at this point, but I think it’s pretty clear that we now know what goes on in Planned Parenthood clinics,” Fiorina said, according to CNN.

“Here’s what I know: Planned Parenthood has been trafficking in body parts. Planned Parenthood has been altering late-term abortion techniques to this specific purpose of harvesting body parts,” Fiorina added.

Mike Huckabee also weighed in on the issue on Twitter, calling it “a sick day in America.”
