West Point could have first female dean
The United States Military Academy could soon have its first female dean, according to Reuters.
{mosads}The Academy, commonly known as West Point, hasn’t had a female dean in its 216-year history, but a nomination from President Obama could change that.
Col. Cindy Jebb, a West Point graduate who currently leads the school’s Department of Social Sciences was nominated by Obama and would need confirmation from the Senate.
Jebb would become the dean of West Point’s Academic Board.
“She’s revered amongst the faculty and cadets and we’re lucky to have her,” West Point superintendent Lieutenant General Robert Caslen said in a statement.
