Iran’s Ayatollah: Working with US would be a mistake
Iran’s supreme leader on Friday lashed out at the United States in a speech that seemed to signal that the rogue nation is unwilling to cooperate with western nations.
{mosads}“We have many small and big enemies,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a nationally televised speech, according to The New York Times.
Khameni singled out the U.S., Britain and Israel, which he referred to as “the damned and cancerous Zionist regime.”
Iran has not seen many economic benefits since reaching a deal with the U.S. and other western nations, which lifted sanctions imposed on the country in exchange for the regime curtailing its nuclear program.
There are still sanctions in place that have dissuaded international businesses from working with the country.
Khamenei also voiced his distrust of America following the negotiations, saying that he believes “the U.S. will never stop its destructive role.”
