Schwarzenegger expresses support for judge attacked by Trump
Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Monday expressed support for the California judge overseeing lawsuits against Trump University.
“Judge Curiel is an American hero who stood up to the Mexican cartels,” Schwarzenegger tweeted on Monday, including a link to a New York Times article titled “That Judge Attacked by Donald Trump? He’s Faced a Lot Worse.”

{mosads}Trump last week criticized Judge Gonzalo Curiel and questioned whether he could be impartial as he oversees lawsuits against Trump University.
The presumptive GOP presidential nominee called the judge’s “Mexican heritage” an “absolute conflict,” noting the judge may be biased because of Trump’s call to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Many Republican and Democratic leaders have condemned Trump’s comments, but the candidate is urging his supporters to continue to defend his accusation that the federal judge is unfit to rule in the Trump University fraud case.
Schwarzenegger did not vote for Trump in the California primary. Instead, the former California governor said Monday he voted for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who he had previously endorsed.
