Chris Matthews asks on-air who ‘funniest black guy’ is

MSNBC host Chris Matthews on Wednesday night asked “Saturday Night Live” Michael Che who he thinks the “funniest black guy” is.

{mosads}”You are so funny,” Matthews said, sitting down with Che and “Weekend Update” co-host Colin Jost.

“What do you think, funniest guy — funniest black guy?” Matthews asked Che, who is black.

Che and Jost seemed surprised to be asked the question, and Che answered: “You know what, I’m going to say Cosby so nobody gets mad at you. … Now that’ll be the headline.”

“Say nothing bad about the dead, you know you’re not supposed to do that,” Matthews responded.

Matthews then pivoted to talking about Ben Carson’s speech linking Hillary Clinton to Lucifer.
