Priebus: ‘Division is profit’ for cable news
The Chairman of the Republican National Committee said that the Republican National Convention in Cleveland was “great” despite the media being “obsessed” over safety.
In a radio interview with John Catsimatidis on Sunday, Reince Priebus praised the convention as being one of the safest in history. He also lauded GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s acceptance speech while criticizing cable news.
{mosads}“Division is profit in the world of cable news. If you’re dividing, you’re making money,” he said.
“There is no money in unity. It is a profit center to divide people, to divide politics, to divide parties. And that’s what you see on television,” Priebus added.
Priebus also said he will be attending the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia is “looking forward to having a lot of fun with the Democrats.”
“People know that Hillary Clinton is lousy. She is in the ditch,” he said. “The trick to this [election] is, just like Reagan had to do in 1980, is convince people you can be in the White House.”
Priebus further criticized the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s foreign policy experience as secretary of State during the Obama administration.
“[The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria] spread its wings on the watch of Hillary Clinton. Libya went bananas under Hillary Clinton’s watch. All of this mess we’re in took place, or at least grew, over the time Hillary Clinton is in charge of the State Department,” he said.
