Bill Clinton accidentally says Hillary has the flu

Bill Clinton misspoke when he said Wednesday that Hillary Clinton has the flu instead of pneumonia, a spokesperson for the former president said.

“I talked to her, she’s feeling great and I think will be back out tomorrow,” Clinton said at a Las Vegas campaign event. “Last time I checked, millions of people were getting the flu every year.”

A representative for Clinton clarified to MSNBC that he misspoke: “He meant pneumonia.”

The former secretary of State was scheduled to attend the Wednesday rally but stayed home to recover after her pneumonia diagnosis. Clinton will return to the campaign trail on Thursday.

Clinton’s campaign has come under fire for how they handled disclosing her health issues and for not keeping the campaign’s pool reporters in the loop on Sunday following her early departure from the 9/11 memorial.

The former secretary of State’s health has been questioned by GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. He reportedly revealed the results of his recent medical exam during a Wednesday taping of “The Dr. Oz Show.” Hours earlier, his campaign said not to expect the results to be shown on air.

The rally comes as a new Monmouth University poll released found Trump overtaking Clinton in Nevada by 2 points. It’s a battleground state that was carried by President Obama in 2008 and 2012.
