Lewandowski no longer receiving severance from Trump campaign
Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, is no longer receiving severance payments from the GOP presidential nominee’s campaign.
{mosads}”In previous appearances, we have told you that Corey was still receiving severance from the Trump campaign,” CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota said when she introduced Lewandowski on “New Day” Thursday morning.
“But that is no longer the case, we are told. Are you done with those payments?” she asked.
“Amazing, everything comes to an end,” Lewandowski said.
“I didn’t think those would run out,” Camerota said.
“Forty days to go in the election, and now this is the breaking news of the day,” Lewandowski said, before confirming he was no longer receiving payments from the Trump campaign.
Politico reported that member of the Trump campaign decided to the stop the payments because they were a “distraction.”
Lewandowski, who was fired from the Trump campaign in June, joined CNN as a commentator shortly after leaving the campaign.
He was set to receive severance payments from the Trump campaign until the end of 2016, according to his contract, Politico reported.
