Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) misspoke on Wednesday, when he said Donald Trump’s lewd remarks about women in 2005 were made “in a locker room.”

“I do not condone, or I don’t make excuses for Mr. Trump. As I said I do not make excuses for somebody who said something 11 years ago in a locker room,” he said during an introductory speech at a Trump in Ocala, Fla.

The leaked conversation between Trump and former “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush actually took place on a bus on the set of “Days of Our Lives.”

{mosads}Friday’s bombshell release of the old audio recording of the GOP nominee talking about groping women without their consent shocked the political world and damaged his campaign, prompting more than two dozen Republican lawmakers to withdraw their endorsements.

Yoho, who endorsed Trump in June, seemed to rush through the portion of his remarks about the tape, and it did not appear that his mistake was deliberate.

Trump apologized for his remarks, and he and his campaign surrogates have described the conversation as “locker room talk” made before his entrance into politics.

But many reporters took to social media to fact check Yoho.
