Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) on Wednesday slammed ObamaCare, saying the plan was “doomed to fail from the beginning.”

{mosads}”It was built on quicksand,” Ellmers, a surrogate for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, said Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day.”

“It was a house of cards.”

The North Carolina representative, who lost her primary bid for reelection this year, said there was never any “foundation” for the plan.

“You can’t make something better that is dead on arrival,” she said.

“Remember three years ago with the rollout of healthcare.gov? That was a disaster. It has been a disaster since day one. There is no fixing it.”

She said that, in North Carolina, there is only one insurance company providing ObamaCare.

“We need to make this fix, put a safety net in place, gut the whole system and come back with patient-centered healthcare,” she said.

Reports this week said there will be an average 25 percent premium increase in ObamaCare plans.

Officials have also confirmed a major drop-off in insurer options, with more than 80 companies ditching the federal marketplace next year.

Trump often vows during his campaign rallies to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
