Pence to speak at Heritage Foundation event at Trump’s D.C. hotel
The Heritage Foundation will hold an event at Donald Trump’s Washington, D.C. hotel, with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, delivering a keynote address, Politico reported Tuesday.
The conservative think tank’s event is taking place Tuesday evening in the hotel’s presidential ballroom, and is dedicated to Heritage Foundation donors who have given over $1,000 annually, according to the report.
{mosads}”The Heritage donor conference is being held across the street at the Ronald Reagan Center,” Heritage spokesperson Sarah Mills told Politico. “We had such a big response to the Pence speech, confirmed less than two weeks ago, that the only space close by that would meet our space needs and new security requirements without negatively impacting the conference schedule was the adjacent Trump hotel.”
The hotel in Washington has sparked controversy about potential conflicts of interest for Trump. Other organizations and governments have also scheduled evens at Trump’s Washington D.C. hotel.
Throughout his campaign, Trump vowed to separate his business interests from his work at the White House should he win the election. He also maintained that he will hand off all business related matters to his children once he takes office.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan and Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations will also be co-hosting a Hanukkah event at the Trump hotel later in December.
