Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, has reportedly requested permission to review the FBI search warrant that was used to examine Clinton-related emails on her estranged husband’s computer.

According to a report by Reuters, Abedin made the request in a letter to a U.S. judge on Wednesday, claiming that neither she nor former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) were provided with a copy of the FBI’s search warrant.

{mosads}In late October, FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress notifying the lawmakers of newly discovered emails that were potentially related to the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of State.

It was later revealed that the emails were found through an unrelated investigation into Weiner’s latest sexting scandal, in which the former congressman allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to a 15-year-old girl.

The timing of the letter sparked controversy as lawmakers demanded more information about the FBI’s renewed investigation. Two days before Election Day, Comey announced that the newly discovered emails did not change his original conclusion not to recommend charges against Clinton.

According to Reuters, Abedin’s letter was filed as federal District Judge Kevin Castel decides whether to unseal the application for the search warrant.
