A number of allies of Donald Trump are slated to hit the Sunday show circuit this week on the heels of the president-elect voicing support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump on Friday sent a tweet praising the Russian leader after the Obama administration
announced sanctions on Russia over a hacking campaign leading up to Trump’s electoral win.
“Great move on delay (by V. Putin) – I always knew he was very smart!” Trump tweeted, adding in another tweet later that the Russians “are playing” CNN and NBC News “for such fools.”
Another major international event that sparked controversy in the U.S. was the passage of the U.N. Security Council resolution last week that demanded an end to Israeli settlements.
Trump has expressed his disapproval of the Obama administration’s decision not to veto the U.N. resolution and pledged that “things will be different” after he takes office Jan 20.
The U.S.-Israeli relationship will also be a topic of discussion Sunday with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) slated to address the relationship between the two nations on “Fox News Sunday.”
Following the end of 2016, the Sunday shows will also focus on the important political events of the year, the objectives of the new Congress convening next week and Trump’s relationship with the media.
Here is the
full lineup:
ABC’s “This Week”: Sean Spicer, incoming White House press secretary, will appear on the program to discuss Trump’s top priority on the first day in office. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) will also give an interview on the program.
